Marshall, Rogers named to prelim. 30-man U.S. MNT roster

Crew standouts Chad Marshall and Robbie Rogers were among the 30 players announced to the preliminary U.S. Men’s National Team roster today for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Marshall and Rogers will play for the Black & Gold against Chivas USA this Saturday (May 15), before departing to join the U.S. squad for training camp on the campus of Princeton University.     Marshall deserves to go. Best defender in MLS by a mile. May not see the field while he’s there but it would be a great experience.

    Rogers may have to wait until 2014 but he will get his chance if he keeps improving and develops more consistency.

    And I love Frankie but those two-footed tackles won’t fly at the World Cup. Leave him home to lead the Crew.
