
Major League Soccer announced today that Crew midfield maestro Guillermo Barros Schelotto has been voted the 2008 MLS Volkswagen Most Valuable Player. Guille becomes the first player in Crew history to win the prestigious league MVP award, after earning the most votes in polling of MLS players, general managers, coaches, and members of the media. The voting breakdown is after the jump.

Congrats to GBS, and the Crew. What an honor it is to see him play. Regardless of what happens Sunday, he and Sigi deserve to be compensated for what they are doing for this massive franchise. Come on Crew, give these gentlemen what they deserve for bringing our beloved franchise to the top of the table!

Congratulations to you all. I’m from Argentina and a Boca Juniors’ fan. I love you Guille… you are an amazing soccer player and I hope you’ll come back and play for Boca before you retire. We miss you and wish you well, thanks for everything!!! AGUANTE BOCA!!!!
