Mayor Coleman emerges victorious

Posted by: Crew Communications  //  Category: General News

As many of you know, our dear Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman engaged in a friendly wager with New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg prior to MLS Cup on Nov. 23. The gentlemanly bet went as follows: If the Crew won, Mayor Bloomberg would send a large John’s Special pizza pie-in honor of Red Bulls forward John Wolyniec of Staten Island-from Basille’s Restaurant on Staten Island, a large Italian Hero from Leo’s Latticini and Mama’s of Corona from Carnegie Deli in Manhattan and a case of Brooklyn Lager from Brooklyn Brewery. If the Red Bulls won, Mayor Coleman will send a package of Ohio State Buckeye candies and a case of Columbus’s finest ale from the Columbus Brewing Co.

As we all know, Mayor Coleman came out on top in the wager, thanks to the Crew’s 3-1 victory over New York, and the Mayor’s office has been kind enough to send over a couple of pictures of Mayor Coleman enjoying the spoils of victory. Check them out after the jump.
