The Crew take a lot of positives from their first loss.

It was so refreshing that after the Crew lost their first game of the season, a majority of the fans were talking, tweeting, facebooking, “Columbus till I die.”  I have little patience for fair weather fans.

When I was at practice on Monday before the gang departed for San Jose, I was speaking with Adam Moffat who had a good laugh when he was talking about the fact that this was his and the teams best game this season.  Head Coach Bobby Warzycha, agreed.

They practically dominated in every category but not the most important one, goals scored.  The reassuring factor in the loss was the team felt this game was one they will build upon.  The style of play was the aggressive attack that  Warzycha was looking for from his squad.

The schedule has been a challenging one, with the LA game on Saturday, fly out Monday, game on Wednesday, fly to Colorado on Thursday and a match on Saturday against the Rapids.  Can you say, Oy Vey?  I am exhausted just thinking about it.

I am so excited for the World Cup!  I can’t believe it is almost here.  The US National team has touched down in South Africa and their preparation for England has begun.  Before they take on England June, 12 they will face Australia in an exhibition match.

The Crew is putting together some fantastic viewing parties for the World Cup. Check out thecrew.com/worldcup for all the details!

While the Crew are away, I will still play!  Well, I should say work instead of play but my job is so much fun it doesn’t feel like work!  This week I am at Muirfield Village covering The Memorial Tournament.  So this week it’s off the pitch and onto the fairways.  Although I can’t wait to watch the Crew game on Wednesday and Saturday!

Until next time, go crew!!
